Don't mind Naija Babe. She is one of our descendants that we sent to the coast.😂 Anyways, Prof Ogundiran mentioned that the Yoruba that came to join and later displace the late stone age Ugbo people in Ile-ife were from the Ekiti area. These were the people that created the Ife civilization 😎
I'm curious — why do you always bring Ekiti into every conversation about thinking Yoruba first? You claim Islam as your only identity, yet you turn around and use cheap tribal polemics against a Yoruba subgroup. To top it off, your claims are crude, sweeping, ahistorical smears.
People make alliances. And the 'Muslim' defenders (Ibadan & other Oyo-Yoruba) you so much adulate did the same thing.
'Muslim' Ibadan itself allied with Ilorin against other Yoruba polities when it suited its strategic interests. During the 1844 Batedo War between Ijaye and Ibadan, Oluyole actively sought Ilorin's support and coordinated operations — including sending an infantry contingent to assist Ilorin's siege of Ogbomoso.
Likewise, in the Opin War, Ibadan and Ilorin again fought as allies. It was a combined force — Ibadan troops under Kololo and Ilorin forces under Balogun Gambari Ali — that devastated Isan, Oye, and Ikole in pursuit of the ex-Ilorin slave-turned-brigand, Esu, who was ultimately captured at Omu Ijelu.
We could even go into more acts of treachery by the same group against other Yorubas, even in colonial and post-colonial times, but there's no point in washing our dirty linens in public.
Let's stop this condescending talk about the Ekiti.

When we spoke on this yesterday on @Right_Man1 ‘s space, @iamayims said we are bashing Islam.
I state it here boldly that there are certain people on this twitter who align with the ideology of these terrorists.
We are here to resist them.
If you ask this bell end for evidence now, the only response you'll get is, “na my papa tell me.”
For context, the University of Ife (now OAU) established Nigeria's first Department of Chemical Engineering and graduated its first set of Chemical Engineers in 1973. It was followed by UNILAG & ABU in 1976 & 1977, respectively.
So, where exactly was this supposed UNN Chemical Engineering department that Nigeria allegedly "cut off" as a punitive measure for the Biafra war?
Lying is a reflexive action for Biafran war apologists.

After the civil war, Chemical Engineering was cut off in UNN, and the South-South zone was created; a political region that doesn’t exist on a compass.
…and the reason is obvious.
I hope you guys just heard what Prof. Ogundiran just said about Ekiti people & the founding of the Ife empire. Please respect us 🤣🤣🤣

I would like to engage with you on this, but let's clarify a few points before we go further.
Which of these best captures your claim:
Yoruba is a recent identity because...
a) The people known as Yoruba today do not belong to the same cultural continuum.
b) They do belong to the same cultural continuum, but were never a single political unit until recently
c) They never had a collective name for themselves until recently
d) None of the above (Some explanation will be appreciated)

Nigeria appreciates this partnership with the United States in advancing our shared security objectives. I extend my sincere gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and unwavering support in this effort.
I commend the personnel involved on both sides for their professionalism and courage, and I look forward to more decisive strikes against all terrorist enclaves across the nation.
PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU
“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield. Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS…” - President Trump
