@adamboxer1 ‘Polite reminders’ I find even worse - I’ll decide if I find your tone polite, thanks (and the fact you’ve felt the need to say it probably means I won’t take it politely).
@lukerobertblack No, it is much, much more than that. Population of Grimsby is 90k - approx 45k homes. 180k homes would mean half of the whole of the Lincolnshire county council area.
@SandyofSuffolk@HugoTHFC The fastest train from Plymouth to London takes 3 hrs each way so I seriously doubt your s-i-l is spending 6 hours a day three days a week commuting.
@_blain123@thomasforth It’s isn’t that surprising that this is the status quo, given the two sets of infrastructure. The disparity is surprising. It should be as easy to live/ work in Leeds/ Manchester as it is Edinburgh/ Glasgow. And yet.
@richardrcubitt @JamesDAustin West Midlands mayoralty covering the former West Midlands local govt area makes total sense. The tag ‘East Midlands’ for the new Notts/Derbys mayoralty is indeed the aberration here - this is the inaccuracy, not Greater Lincs.
@richardrcubitt @JamesDAustin Needs differentiating from Lincolnshire County Council area, which covers the post-1974 Lincolnshire - N and NE Lincolnshire are not part of *that* Lincolnshire but will be part of Greater Lincolnshire.
@Metal_Rebel@chug3345@anon_opin Which is why I said *most* people in *most* locations. Clearly rural places with poor/ non-existent public transport exist. But 84% of the UK and 60% of the global population lives in urban areas: a clear majority.
