@cyclist_jim@GMB@edballs@MartinSLewis When said claimant passes away and probate is granted, letters to executors arrive, debt management, suggesting they were overpaid pension credit because, surprise surprise, there’s a difference in their estate value from when they originally applied 🙈
@cyclist_jim@GMB@edballs@MartinSLewis Their whole financial situation is taken into account, application has to be accurate, bank accounts, savings, stocks and shares, however small, premium bonds (my father had £5 worth), they will reconstruct their financial history, their words, looking for large transfers

@gphillips1945@JillSilluzio It’s savings, stocks and shares, premium bonds, everything needs to go on to the application, everything, then when said person passes away and probates granted, you get a letter from dwp debt collection! It’s very stressful!
@GMB@MartinSLewis It must also be hi lighted that when said pensioner passes and probate is granted it triggers dwp to contact next of kin through debt recovery to question whether initial application included ALL their finances required for pension credit, as on death their finances are different
@GMB@MartinSLewis AIP’s sorry, assessed income periods, quoting ‘you do not need to report changes to your pensions, savings or investments’. New AIPs stopped in 2016, I believe, so assume since then, any new successful pension credit benefits require notification of changes! It’s complicated!
@GMB@MartinSLewis Luckily Barclays and Lloyds were very helpful and went back to 2003, one Lloyds account wasn’t even open then, obviously why there’s a difference at death! You need to also mention AOP’s, assessed income periods, which states and I quote ‘you do not need to report changes to your
@MartinSLewis@hornchurchammer It’s worth mentioning that all their savings, shares, premium bonds, etc MUST be included when applying. My dear dad died last November and I’m having to prove his eligibility going back 21 years otherwise they will ‘reconstruct’ his financial history! They used that word!

@BritishGasHelp Hi, I went on the app to give meter readings and request a bill, only to find meter readings had been taken the day before via smart meters! I wasn’t aware I had smart meters! Can anyone advise on this…and send me a bill! Thank you
@BritishGasHelp hi, I’ve submitted meter readings (21/3/24), can someone look and send me a new bill, I’ve message via Twitter messages but not sure if it’s monitored, thanks
@BritishGasHelp@Bigdom1West Did we get an email about this, did I miss it? The white background app has never worked fully for me and when I logged on to look this morning, it says I’m not a customer, I’ve now downloaded the blue app and it seems incredibly basic?
