@smithsmm As a foster carer one of my children had 1:1 for 32.5hrs a week. Totally needed due to trauma and unable to trust adults. Trust built over years led to independence in college and life
@ccwild79 I have always said I will never make money from children’s trauma. I foster for a LA we are paid the least in a huge system and told “there’s no money for the children” there is, it’s just being paid to corporate money making businesses who treat child as income.
@costa going to give up having a Costa. At crealy today ordered two hot chocolates with cream and marshmallows. Asked for them to be extra hot. Walked back sat down and they could literally be drunk down, luke warm.
@CostaCoffee I had a child in hospital so had to rely on your outlet for food. I had a cheese and ham toastie, it was disgusting. Luke warm, one side soft not cooked and the cheese and ham were slimy- it’s over a week ago now but put me off ever eating there again
@sainsburys disgusting service from one of your staff when my 17 yr old visually impaired child working towards independence with shopping asked for help finding an item.
@LeeBraganza There is no rest for the children. Excessive home work in term time and then in school revision sessions during every holiday between now and GCSEs, when do they rest ??
@Dotmay47 @teachwellall Whilst I agree, poverty has always existed some adults will say they existed in poverty as children but their parents were still there for them, meals around a table, talking to them, playing out doors with other children etc. It’s a combination of complex factors.
One of the foster children has made a new library in the house from books we had stored upstairs. There are 450 books here from picture book to young adult, all have been read by children staying with us. Reading to and reading by children is so important

@JosephOak35 As a foster carer please don’t ever refer to a child as a LAC. Our children are constantly labelled. You may have identified this child as well by them not arriving at school on Monday everyone now knows their status breaching their confidentiality.
@PetsatHome wow I think you could re design you packing to reduce waste. A 400 g pack of treats filled to the black line, using under half the packaging ! Cut the size of the box, easier to transport, less packaging.
@NewHeadteacher So happy reading this. Our looked after children who often have huge trauma need time, patience, love, boundaries and understanding. This can be hard in a busy school but it sounds like you and your staff are really making a difference.
@StagecoachSW will you 505 service from long Ashton park and ride to southmead hospital run as normal time table on Tuesday 16 the in the Bristol bus strike
