Looking forward to April 4th, when all the good corporate April Fool's jokes will hit my Facebook feed.
Related: please delete your April Fool's prank posts at the end of the day today.
Every brand that does an April Fool's prank needs to delete their posts/tweets after April 1st, or edit it to tag it as a joke.
I seem to be getting 2-3 day old posts as suggestions this wk, probably because they had high engagement. Several suggestion posts were stale pranks.
Whatever your opinion on a TikTok ban, the real issue is that Congress has still yet to address the need for a national digital consumer privacy protection law like GDPR (Europe) or CCPA (California).
@RoKhanna A simpler way to ask the question: why not extend the limits in your proposal to include immediate family of elected officials as well? As you said yourself when you unveiled the blueprint, "There's a real crisis of confidence right now..."
@RoKhanna I didn't see this addressed in your Reddit AMA: why do you advocate for Congressional stock trading rules while continuing to engage in individual trading? Why not lead by example? Feels like lip service when doing an AMA days after disclosing new positions.
@RoKhanna Isn't that the same argument other reps when defending individual trades? When Pelosi is criticized for trading she says it's her husband's. Coincidentally, your wife and Paul Pelosi revealed new PANW positions on the same day. Diversified =/ blind. Do you not see the optics?
@chamath Why put something in quotes that isn't actually the headline?
The actual headline is "It’s Official: We Can Pretty Much Treat Covid Like the Flu Now. Here’s a Guide."
Pretty ironic to mislead people while accusing others of misleading people.
@GuyDealership Saw a broker advertising an etron lease. $565/mo for 12 months 7500 miles with $2500 at signing for first and fees on a $113k etron gt. Insane.
@JetBlue In 2020, I purchased a fully refundable ticket for 2021 flight. Canceled bc of Covid & was issued refund & travel bank $. Just booked 1st family flight in 2yrs, logged in to see credit expired day after I canceled in '21. Customer service says nothing can be done. Help?
@carsales_guy Manufacturers/captives need to start passing on 100% of credits as cap cost reductions & subsidizing money factors on leases. $50k MSRP, 60% residual, 0.002 MF + $0 cap cost reduction ~ $750/mo. Apply $7500 in credits as CCR and drop MF to 0.0002 and it's ~$375 (+taxes/fees).
@GuyDealership This seems misleading 😂
Sales up 50% from Q1 to Q2 was 600 units/mo. And of course price is up. It's a long awaited total redesign and a huge upgrade. The MSRP was up 20%. That's not exactly parabolic. The 4runner MSRP was up 5% and nothing changed.

This is a fascinating episode from Planet Money, which basically lays out the case that the most prominent research in behavioral economics around how to get people to be more honest was based on fabricated and synthetic data that the authors lied about.

@chamath "they will need to create a new use case...".
How about: a content moderated, brand safe place where advertisers can get positive ROI that's shoved into existing user feeds?
Twitter performance marketing could never compete w/ FB on the best days. Delta will be huge now.
This bill would functionally prevent the use of location data for epidemiological, pandemic, and natural disaster response and planning activities. While there's a carveout in the bill for these, if it's illegal to collect and sell the data, where will federal agencies get it?
Massachusetts has the opportunity to lead the nation by banning the sale of cellphone location data (H.357|S.148).
Personal location data reveals the most sensitive and intimate things about us, and we all deserve to keep that information private.

Outright banning the sale of location data will create negative externalities not considered by its sponsors.
Collection and transaction of location data should absolutely be regulated and the US needs its own GDPR, but after reading it, I think this bill is problematic.
This is a well-intentioned bill crafted by people who don't understand the technology that attempts to prevent negative things that aren't actually at risk of happening but which will make things worse for the average consumer. #mapoli#dataprotection

I read $jpm is not acquiring all of $frc 's assets, including some of the single family loans. Anyone know if they are buying the unsecured student loan debt business? Asking for a friend who refi'd student loans with them.
Before blue checkmarks, I wrote in a Forrester report that brands/celebs should validate their presence on Twitter by listing their @ handle on their website & putting that url in their profile.
14 years later this appears to be relevant advice again.
