We spend too much time arguing like we're right—and too little time listening like we're wrong.
Diatribes don't change minds. Productive disagreement depends on showing respect, curiosity, and humility.
The most compelling teachers are the ones who are most eager to learn.
In unhealthy relationships, people walk on eggshells to avoid conflict. They tell you what you want to hear.
In healthy relationships, people have the courage to address conflict. They tell you what you need to hear.
Silence protects fragile ties. Candor strengthens real bonds.
Passive-aggressive behavior is like a slow leak in a negotiation—it builds frustration, blocks clarity, and stalls momentum.
Here’s how to stop it:
Label it. “It seems like something’s bothering you that’s hard to say directly.”
Mirror it. Repeat their last few words—“Whatever?”—to trigger clarity.
Invite honesty. “I’m prepared to hear something I might not like.”
These tools bring indirect tension into the light—so you can solve the real problem, not just the symptoms.

When you’re stuck with a narcissist throwing shade your way, don’t feed the beast.
Stay calm. Stroke the ego. Call out what you see—without blaming. Say something like: “It seems like I’ve done something that really upset you…”
That flips the script. If they have a reason, they’ll tell you. If they don’t, you’ve just made them pause and reflect.
It’s not about fighting back—it’s about staying curious, making a gentle observation, and keeping your cool.

Rapport leads to influence. Influence built on trust is what lasts.
The best negotiators don’t just talk. They listen, reflect, and build a connection first. Then comes trust. Then comes impact.
When you master the Core Four—Labels, Mirrors, Dynamic Silence™, and Summary™—you unlock more than just agreement.
You build trust-based influence—the kind that sticks.

It doesn’t need to be perfect.
Making a mistake now and adjusting later is almost always more efficient than endless hesitation on whether or not you should do something.
If the cost of being wrong won't sink you, pull the trigger. Hesitation is the only guaranteed failure.
@markgurman Apple, instead of always being the first to market, built a reputation for taking existing concepts, refining them into improved and highly successful versions. However, the window of opportunity for AI is closing rapidly for Apple.
@imarksx Whatever the issue, it’s been brewing for some time and evidence why Kim Vorrath was moved over to AI and Siri in January. She must have her hands full. https://t.co/iH5Y0hnvb8
@BrandonButch Yes, it’s suitable for smaller gatherings, but it has limited utility for larger groups. You either have to send a link in a separate message or the app opens a new message for each person added to the guest list. Hopefully, a future update will address this issue.
@tracking_DOGE This is amazing! It would be incredible if someone would create an iOS widget similar to the ones we use to track weather, stocks, and other crucial data.
@markgurman Very little. Occasional use of writing tools and notification summaries. 18.4 beta 1 is long overdue. iPhone 16 was highly promoted on the power of Apple intelligence but most of the core AI won’t be realized until the spring of 2025. Very disappointing.
