Welcome home, @justin_getapps and @sunn_getapps! ๐ก
Excited to introduce the dev team behind GetApps the builders, the debuggers, the late-night shippers making things happen behind the scenes.
We bring the code, the chaos, and the craft that keep GetApps running smoothly. From bug fixes to big features, this is the team turning ideas into reality, one commit at a time.
Glad to have you both officially on board. Let's build something great. ๐

unpopular opinion:
not everything needs to be a web app
browser tab #47
โplease enable notificationsโ
works until you close the tab
somehow eats 2GB of RAM
sometimes I just want a native app
open it
use it
close it
getapps[dot]cafe gets it
We built 75+ desktop apps and none of them touch Electron. Just wrote up the actual technical reasoning behind picking Tauri instead, not the marketing version. Bundle size, memory, why Rust owns all the computation while Vue just draws pixels.
pricing is fucking weird
charge per user โ people share accounts
charge per app โ people uninstall apps
charge per feature โ suddenly your roadmap is a fucking menu
so we went with:
one library
one plan
every app
let's see
@denisyurchak bro quit his job just to become CEO, marketer, accountant, gym bro, and unpaid QA
getappscafe was supposed to make desktop life easier
not sure it can fix this
Cloudflare: โshould we build an iOS app?โ
me looking at https://t.co/i9se9VLk3c:
we already have an app for basically everything
please let me cook
Alright alright... Should we (Cloudflare) build an iOS app?
Keep your cloud in your pocket everywhere you go. Deploy your ideas while out with friends. Get notified when services need your attention. Tell Siri to buy that domain name that won't leave your head.
the best apps probably started with: โthis is annoying. iโll just build it myself.โ
no pitch deck
no 47-page roadmap
just a developer being pissed off enough to open their IDE
thatโs how software should be built
