@Broski_Ash@Ruchi_kemp Better not go down the complex financial instrument rabbit hole. Not realistic for Nagaland. Better go for tried and tested methods. So it looks like there's nothing wrong with carbon credit forestry projects in Nagaland if we emulate successful projects elsewhere. Seems doable.
@Broski_Ash@Ruchi_kemp It appears the Gabon model is more about what is done with the money earned. Carbon credits will still have to be sold at $10 (or whatever the market price is at the time). And lock-in commitments can be avoided by writing "this is not a lock-in commitment" in the contract no?
@Ruchi_kemp@Broski_Ash If carbon credits from Nagaland are being sold at a fair price then is there a need for an alternative model? A quick search shows the global average is about $7.
Had a brief interaction with these Nobel Laureates. They were awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2019. Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo. It's a world to me. Airing soon.
