I lived in New York for years and not once was a road project blocked, they simply made public transit equally convenient and let people choose. Some people like to drive.

Most of the Roads under Metro Stations 🚉 become pitch dark when it rains or during cloudy days! Many people stop by to take shelter (not safe though) till the rain stops and these spots are prone to accidents. Maybe concerned Dept should consider turning on Lights 💡
