I asked Nepal Foreign Minister @shisir if they’ll allow seamless Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra?
Response: Yatra happens through very different border points. Many travel through Nepal. Our concerns are with renewal of the agreement between India and China.
#WATCH | Delhi: On the key takeaways from his visit, Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal says, "I came with two broad objectives. One is to start the highest-level political visits between the two countries. The last visit was almost two years back, and a lot had changed in Nepal over the last year, especially the last few months. So one was to start that highest level engagement. The second was to communicate the new government's priority. I found our engagement with the NSA, the external affairs minister and his team yesterday very productive and engaging. And we've discussed a variety of issues from connectivity, bilateral relationship, to energy and multilateral engagements. So on all fronts, we've discussed very openly through open heart, and we've also discussed about solving the outstanding issues that remain between the two countries through the existing mechanisms that we have, and there are many, many mechanisms, so the first priority is to actually activate those mechanisms."
Nepal has sent diplomatic note to India on [Lipulek-Limpiyadhura]. Land belongs to us, its our historical claim says Nepal Foreign minister Shishir Khanal
#WATCH | Delhi: Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal says, "Kailash Mansarovar Yatra happens through very different border points. Many travel through Nepal. Our concerns are with the renewal of the agreement between India and China through the Kalapani and Lipulekh area, where we have said for a very long time that the land belongs to us, and without Nepal's consent, the two countries by themselves cannot make those agreements. And we've made that very clearly known through our communication, including diplomatic notes to both countries."

Reflections on Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal in Conversation with Aditya Raj Kaul, NDTV:
From Aspirations to Action in Nepal-India Relations
Aspirations articulated by @party_swatantra President Shri Rabi Lamichhane and complemented by FM Khanal reflect what can genuinely be called the political will of the government of the day in Nepal.
For nearly three decades, this level of trust, conviction, and policy clarity has largely been absent.
Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal’s humble acknowledgment that RSP is a relatively new entrant to electoral politics is balanced by a consistent vision, roadmap, and agenda for Nepal: good governance and accelerated economic growth. When these two pillars are strengthened, any nation earns a stronger voice and a respected seat at the table.
Kudos to Aditya Raj Kaul for a powerful and substantive interview.

Nepal Foreign minister Shishir Khanal says India is "our most important partner"; Adds, "Nepal has placed highest priority to India. Ready to engage substantially"
Quite an exception for Home Minister to meet foreign leader, PM expected to meet today. Interesting that after Nepal PM Balen Shah's tough talking, refusal to meet FS Misri, Delhi has laid out the red carpet for his party chief.
