I never attended a school that allowed students to checkout books that weren’t age appropriate.Sounds like you’re getting information from X.

@Web44D @JustineBateman It is banned, in a number of schools. Just like Catcher in the Rye, 1984, Bluest Eye, Fahrenheit 451. Schools can decide what they will or will not allow. So many books that are considered classics are banned simply because they may be about race or political turmoil. Use google.
