I have talked to some Israeli officials and read a good deal of Israeli media. Here is how the war in Iran is perceived there so far:

1) On a tactical level, they believe it has gone very well and Israel has destroyed more of the Iranian military capability than expected.
2) They are disappointed that the regime has not been weakened as much as expected and that they remain in firm control. In particular the lack of a "rise up" among the population is a cause of concern.
3) They are finding Trump to be unreliable. While Israel favors a prolonged campaign to ensure total dismantlement of threats, Trump has signaled a desire to end the war "soon," creating a potential rift in war aims.
4) Hezbollah is stronger than expected. It has hit Israel with drones and missiles and killed soldiers. They have recovered better than expected.
5) The inability of Ben-Gurion airport to withstand closing and chaos has shown fragility in Israeli social cohesion.
6) They are disappointed in the lack of support from Gulf States who want an end to the war rather than the escalation Israel wants.
7) Israel accepts that the regime in Tehran will survive and just hopes that this weakens them in preparation for the next round.
8) There is a growing fear among Israeli strategists that they are winning the war but losing the region. While military targets are being obliterated, the civilian infrastructure damage is causing a backlash.
9) The war is proving very expensive. The need to divert NIS 28 billion ($9 billion) to the military has forced the government to freeze social projects, leading to the first significant anti-government protests since the war began, specifically from the middle class bearing the tax burden.
10) They are aware that the war is very unpopular in the US and that Israel is being blamed. They are concerned about the ramifications for the alliance.

While Netanyahu is painting this as a huge success, it really doesn't look like one to Israeli strategic planners. The public knows it as well.

Their efforts helped shape a path toward a more constructive policy approach and a future defined by stability and cooperation rather than isolation.

النساء اللواتي يحملن سوريا إلى الأمام 🇸🇾

على مدى أربعة عشر عامًا، عملتُ مع نساء سوريات يمتلكن من الصمود ما يحرك الجبال. قائدات، مدافعات، طبيبات، مبدعات، رائدات أعمال، مهندسات، وفنانات. كل واحدة منهن حملت قصة وطنٍ كامل، بحزنه وصبره ووعده بالمستقبل.

لقد كان لي الشرف أن أعمل جنبًا إلى جنب مع سيدات من مختلف القارات والمهن والأجيال. نساء شجاعات، ذكيات، ومخلصات في سعيهن لبناء مستقبل أفضل لسوريا. لم يكنّ مجرد مشاركات في قصة الوطن، بل كُنّ كاتباتها وصانعاتها.

في قاعات الاجتماعات كما في المراكز المجتمعية، شاهدتهنّ يقدن بثقة هادئة. يقلن الحقيقة أمام القوة، ويبنين التحالفات، ويخلقن مساحات جديدة لصوت سوريا كي يُسمع. كثيرات منهن غادرن البلاد، لكن لم تغادرهن روحها أبدًا. نساء سوريا في المهجر أصبحن دبلوماسيات بلا مناصب، رائدات أعمال بلا حدود، ومبتكرات في أكثر ميادين العالم تنافسًا. أسسن مؤسسات ومنظمات وأثرن في السياسات، ورفعن الرواية السورية إلى مستوى الحضور العالمي.

ومن بينهن نساء كان لهن أثر لا يُنسى، تشرفت بالعمل مع بعضهن عن قرب.
أولهم هند قبوات، وزيرة الشؤون الاجتماعية والعمل في سوريا اليوم، تمثّل نموذجًا حيًّا على كيف يمكن للإيمان والعقل أن يتحوّلا إلى خدمة عامة.
الدكتورة ريم البزم، طبيبة القلب في نيوجيرسي، أسهمت بهدوء في التأثير على السياسة الأمريكية عندما ساعدت جهودها الدبلوماسية في منع ضربة عسكرية على إدلب.
ربا هاشم، القيادية في شركة مايكروسوفت، دفعت عجلة الابتكار والتحوّل الرقمي، وقدّمت الدعم لجيل جديد من المهنيين السوريين.
هند الحناوي، مؤسسة منصة Humanitarian Tracker، حوّلت البيانات إلى أداة للدفاع والعدالة، ومكّنت المواطنين من توثيق الحقيقة حين عجز الآخرون.
الدكتورة سراب الفتى في إنديانا، والدكتورة عزة عبد الحق في نيوجيرسي، واصلتا رسالتهما في الشفاء بخدمة إنسانية متجذّرة في حب الوطن.
سوزان ميريدن، المديرة التنفيذية للمجلس السوري الأمريكي، حافظت على وحدة مجتمعنا وإيصال صوته في واشنطن.
أما سوزان أخرس، القيادية المجتمعية من شيكاغو، فقد ترجمت شجاعتها المدنية إلى فعل سياسي بترشحها للكونغرس.

هذا مجرد عدد بسيط من النساء السوريات اللواتي يسطعن في سماء الإنجاز. ولكنّ القائمة طويلة، بل لا نهاية لها. وفي كل ركن من أركان الشتات، تواصل النساء السوريات الارتقاء والقيادة وإعادة تعريف الممكن.

في يناير الماضي، وبعد أسابيع من سقوط النظام، نظمت منظمته التحالف السوري الأمريكي من أجل السلام والازدهار أول وفد نسائي سوري يعود إلى الوطن. جمعنا مجموعة متميزة، لوحة من المواهب والرؤى. التقينا بقيادات سوريا الجديدة لا كزائرات، بل كشريكات في المستقبل. قدمنا أنفسنا لا بالألقاب، بل بالعمل. وكانت رسالتنا واضحة: المرأة السورية قادرة، ولا تحتاج إلى تمثيل رمزي، بل إلى مقاعد حقيقية على طاولة صنع القرار.

أما المرأة السورية في الداخل، فلها تُرفع القبعة.
لقد صمدت كل هذه السنوات، وحملت على كتفيها ما لا يُحتمل. فتحْنَ البيوت من دون رجال، وأدرن الحياة في غياب من كانوا عمادها. كم من النساء خسرْن أزواجهن في الحرب أو فقدْنهم في المعتقلات، ومع ذلك واصلْن الطريق بثبات وصمت يثير الفخر.
المرأة السورية في الداخل لم تنتظر دعمًا ولا تصفيقًا. صنعت من القهر عزيمة، ومن الخسارة بداية جديدة. علّمت أبناءها، وأعادت بناء ما تهدّم بيديها، وأثبتت أن الوطن يمكن أن ينهض من تحت الرماد إذا بقيت نساؤه واقفات.
هي التي عبرت الحرب بلا سند، وبلا حماية، لكنها لم تفقد إيمانها بأن الحياة يجب أن تستمر.

أُكرّم كل امرأة سورية 🤍
تلك التي في المهجر تحمل سوريا في قلبها وهي تبني في الخارج، وتلك التي في الداخل تحملها بين يديها وهي تعيد بناءها.
أنتنّ الضمير والشجاعة والاستمرار. وبكنّ، تمضي سوريا إلى الأمام.
