somebody help me! being explained how water drainage works by a slimy middle aged man on the public flood meeting… YES DEAR I THINK WE ALL KNOW HOW WATER WORKS
I often wonder if being hired for a council job is based on how committed one is to being obstructive and bureaucratic. I’ve been homeless twice and each time the process was like banging my head against a brick wall.
I hoped never to experience it again, but here we are
Westminster council are a joke. In 2021 they have no way to sign an online consent form for a homelessness application, apparently I need to go and spend money and time finding a printer only to have to photograph it and send it back via email 😂
@MayorofLondon@LondonFire@metpoliceuk@TfL what about 2 weeks ago when LFB had over 1,000 calls and half of west London was underwater? 100s of people have lost everything.
Flooding damage across London has continued to wreck people's lives.
Maida Vale resident Shahanara broke down in tears when she told me she'd lost £30,000 worth of possessions in just five hours.

Post flooding emotions are very strange. almost tearful thinking about losing all the calendula, antirrhinum, and veg I grew from seed this year and the neglected roses I brought back to life after a shit winter! all of which are really the absolute least of my problems right now
Statement from @thameswater about the flooding. 😡 No explanation why the water receded very quickly even though it was still raining. A whitewash that needs explanations @MayorofLondon@Georgia_Gould @MAsgharButt2 @KarenPBuckMP @TulipSiddiq https://t.co/3BNmIJ2ffp 1/2
the absolute state of buy to let landlords in London - the bathroom on this property has NO DOOR, and it costs £1625 a month. I don’t even live there and I want to complain! I’ve stayed in hostels with better facilities

@Rollissimo@jodythompson I am so sorry! I had no idea Acton was also affected - this just shows the gravity and breadth of the flooding and the lack of wider press
obviously proliferated in W9, W10, W11 and who pays the price for somebody else’s underground swimming pool?
I don’t see any of these “affluent professionals” who build caverns dipping into their pockets to help with flood displacement efforts
