We often want to solve problems in school with more information.
But the game changer is usually not more information, it’s more connection.
It’s not knowing more, it’s caring more.
It’s not more rules/requirements, it’s stronger relationships. #JoyfulLeaders#FutureDriven
Give kids a reason to WANT TO go to school and you have won 80% of the battle! THIS is where the majority of our efforts should lie. Studies show if a kid misses 15 or more days a year, they are likely (or will be) more than 2 years behind. #DominoEffect
I look forward to presenting in Florence, AL on June 17-18 with @traceybraye for the UNA Regional Inservice Center. Follow this link to register and share with other colleagues. We would love to see you there! https://t.co/TQGxZBplth
Excited to have my conference proposal with @traceybraye and @apmackenzie selected to share with other educators in Nashville at the #TIENetwork2019 conference! We also can’t wait to learn from other trauma informed experts.
I'm comfortable giving a student who needed 4 attempts to master a skill the same grade as the #student who only needed 1 attempt.
'If' a student learns is more important to me than 'when.'
Kudos to some of MCES teacher leaders who provided professional learning today. We can’t wait to use some of these strategies with our students when they return next week! #BeBoldMCSS#MCESFamily
It’s amazing how fast a student can improve once they are convinced that they have the ability to do so. Great strides are made when a teacher, coach, tutor or parent is able to find a student’s strengths and then use those strengths to develop their weaknesses #education#growth
