During the last few months. Myself and filmmaker @carlwoodsfilm worked on a project funded by both Libraries Connected and Natural England #culturenature which is now on display at Solihull Library. Working with the Young Archaeologists Group (YAG) we used drones, cameras and even got to map the ground with a TAR 3 earth resistance meter. If you’re passing that way I throughly recommend going to see this exhibition and what the YAG have produced and learnt from this experience by using technology whilst being outside in nature, in what at times were very very wet conditions. Their enthusiasm was never dampened unlike our equipment 🤣. See next post for more pics. #naturalengland #librariesconnected #drones #photography #solihull #exhibition #yag #archaeologist #archeology #tar3 #earth #geologist #geology #history #localhistory #library #film #project
@Joeynoble That sounds fantastic! As it happens, I’m ringing for a wedding on Boxing Day, too 😉 That’s assuming I survive the ringing at 3 different churches today, and ringing on Christmas Day morning 🔔
@melindahaunton So long #JacobinDay and thanks for all the fish, animals, plants, tools and obscure stuff that made a bonkers world seem temporarily slightly less bonkers
@melindahaunton A photos search for the final #JacobinDay brings up this pic of my Jan 2020 conference presentation about a project on the 1950s self-building housing revolution. A few weeks later we were in the 1st Covid lockdown from which the solace of #JacobinDay emerged
Alighting from the train recently, I overheard two of my fellow passengers discussing which way to go: “so it’s right for the train, and left for George?” @TheStourbridge Made me smile! #CatsOfTwitter
@melindahaunton It really is! Years ago, my A Level Spanish tutor laughed at a translation I’d done into Spanish - she said it was absolutely grammatically correct, but no Spaniard would ever say it that way. Wish I could remember what it was now, though!
@JoannaDungey I still can’t quite believe that I have it. I’ve been looking for more than 10 years, and they don’t come up very often. This was auctioned just a mile away from me. The ticking is quite soothing, but the chiming is quite startling 😬
Thrilled to have won at a recent auction a longcase clock made by my 5x great-grandfather. Now even more thrilled to have it actually working 🥳
I may be slightly less thrilled when it’s chiming throughout the night, though 😃
@SampsCaroline It’s currently making me jump every hour - I’m hoping I get used to the chiming soon! I was beyond excited to get it as I have been looking for more than 10 years.
Marvellous view of the Wrekin from the top of St Leonard’s Church tower #Bridgnorth Really enjoyed the tower tour by Bridgnorth Ringers - hope to join in a #BellRinging practice at some point 🤞
My first paid gig as a bell ringer! Still a long way to go until I’m properly competent but I’m chuffed to have got this far, and I’m enjoying my ringing journey 🔔 #BellRinging
#UnconfinedWalks today was up and down the 100+ spiral steps to the #BellRinging Teaching Centre at Worcester Cathedral for a practice. We also had a sneak peek at the real ringing chamber. Just fantastic 🔔
