Patently not true. Because of this policy the eligibility age for Maori and Pacifica, which have the greatest need, was increased.

When Maori and Pacific life expectancy match that of pakeha these policies may not be needed. Currently their life expectancy is 7 years less.

Maybe (since it's not the job of the taxpayer to provide lunches) we need to start talking about the already wealthy and sorted who get lunch (and other meals) supplied by the taxpayer at Bellamy's.
They can bring lunch from home, surely?

@ThisIsCorey yep followed by a snack when I got home and a big dinner at night not forgetting the breakfast I had before I went to school and to be honest there was likely a biscuit or two for morning tea. Not so great if it the only thing going to eat for whole day

Christopher Luxon fails to understand that growing up, he would have had meat, potatoes and three veg, the night before, and 5 wheatbix before school. So yeah a Marmite sandwich and an apple might have been enough. For some kids, school lunch is the main meal of the day.
