@itslydiaowuor Complaining about unfair systems is true but not relevant. There have been far brutal systems in history over time and perhaps even in future. While grieving ours is valuable, it is helpful to focus on the upside of African systems and work towards hope for a better Africa.
In Dholuo, we love saying “Ngima ema duong.”
It means that the gift of life is greater than anything else. It implies that as long as there’s life, we can do anything.
That as long as you’re alive, there’s room to try again. And again.
Thinking about it always makes me smile.
The real flex is learning to raise your emotional intelligence so toxic people can't play mind games with you, learning to pause before reacting so manipulators can't disrespect you and blame you for your negative reactions. This is called baiting.
Don't take the bait.
You can’t control what other people do, what they say, how they treat you, but you can control how you respond. I know sometimes we have to confront, the lion needs to roar, but most of the time, the lamb needs to come out. If that battle is not worth losing your peace, ignore it and move on.
@JoyceMeyer True contentment isn’t about the location—it’s about the Presence. When God is with you, every place becomes enough and every season holds peace.
They tried to hurt you.
They thought it would ruin you. But all it did was reveal the hand of God on your life. You're not who they thought you were. You're stronger. You're wiser. You're still here.
The EFF’s Statement Condemning the Kenyan Government’s Censorship of Media and Repression of Youth Protests
-What began as a rejection of economic injustice has now grown into a widespread demand for an end to state corruption, police brutality, and impunity at the highest levels of government. It is a movement led by the youth and in response, President Ruto has unleashed state-sponsored violence and censorship. According to the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, at least eight people have been killed in today’s protests alone. More than 400 others have been injured, including protesters, journalists, and even police, many hit by live bullets, rubber bullets, or savagely beaten mainly in Nairobi, the nation’s capital.
Every closed door is not the enemy. God will shut doors to protect you. He’ll move someone out of your life because He knows they’re not going to be good for you. He’ll let the boss overlook you for the promotion because He has something much better in store.
I do not fear aging because my life isn’t contingent on being a sex toy for a porn brained freak. My life is about expansion, growth, evolution, God, Love, art, creativity, the Divine, the esoteric, the unknown… all these things become richer and more finely tuned with age.
Too often, we get out of agreement with God when we make a mistake or when things don’t go our way. But we have to remind ourselves that we are not failures; we are learners.
