2/2 Esta não é uma alegoria para uma mudança superficial, mas uma exortação a uma conversão radical, onde o perdão de Deus se torna a chave para a restauração da dignidade humana.

Tattoos, especially larger ones, increase your skin and lymph nodes cancer risk. This is how you can mitigate the risk.
0/ A recent study on Danish twins found that having a tattoo at all (exposure to tattoo ink) increased the risk of skin cancer and lymphoma by 33%, while a tattoo larger than the palm of a hand increased the risk of lymphoma and skin cancer by 137% and 173%, respectively.
In detail
1/ Tattoo inks are suspected to cause skin cancer due to certain dyes, contaminants and by-products of ink degradation. Many of these toxic substances build up in the nearby lymph nodes, possibly triggering lymphomas.
2/ Contaminants and ingredients contributing to this risk include; soot products in black ink, the incomplete burning of carbons to make black ink leads to toxic and possibly carcinogenic byproducts including PAHs, azo dyes can also release carcinogenic amines by exposure to light or lasers (often used to remove tattoos), and red inks were also correlated with increased allergy risks.
3/ Twin studies are the gold standard for isolating genetic and environmental factors and evaluating each separately.
4/ The study tracked a total of 2679 twins from a Danish cohort for the association of tattoos to cancer.
5/ A general case-control study of the entire twins cohort for cancer risk showed a 62% increase of skin cancer risk for tattooed individuals.
6/ For twin-matched analysis: only 14 pairs of twins were identified in which only one sibling had a tattoo.
7/ Among them the risk of skin cancer an lymphoma increased by 33% with any exposure to tattoo ink.
8/ Larger tattoos correlated with a much higher risk of skin and lymph node cancer, 137% and 173% increased risk, respectively.
Limitations
1/ While the starting cohort of 2669 twins is large enough, only 14 twin pairs were found to have discordant behavior regarding tattoos, hence a relatively small cohort for the twin-matched analysis.
2/ However, this is partially resolved based on the consistent findings between the population level and the twin-matched analysis; the findings echo previous concerns from previous observational studies as well.
Previous findings
1/ A previous study with a larger cohort of over 11,000 participants showed a general increase in lymphoma risk by 21% in people who have been exposed to tattoo inks. The risk was highest within two years of getting tattooed, 81% relative risk increase within the first two years of getting a tattoo.
2/ The new results in twins emphasize the findings of this earlier study, and rule out any biases due to genetics by using twins, they also
How to minimize your risk
1/ If you are flexible about it, consider avoiding tattoos.
2/ When having tattoos take the following precautions
2.i/ Avoid larger tattoos, no tattoo larger than hand palm, and preferably the total tattooed area still smaller than that.
2.ii/ Seek tested and approved tattoo inks, while the FDA has not approved any, the EU Chemical Agency has published the following criteria for approving tattoo inks https://t.co/qOOFIwMZKh within the EU Reach initiative for regulating hazardous chemicals. This is a list of ECHA tested and approved tattoo inks https://t.co/bMy9ZFGcAr
2.iii/ Generally when looking for a good tattoo ink seek heavy metal free, azo dye free, and high quality inks that have been manufactured under approved conditions.
