Did you know? Highways in Texas generate more carbon emissions annually than the entire GLOBAL railway network combined.

Haven't been to the Museum since 2012!!! So beautiful.
Union Terminal is a Temple of Railroads and needs more than a middle of the night stop from Amtrak.
“An electric car takes 9 years to offset the carbon impact of its production,” he told delegates. The average lifetime of cars and vans is a little over 11 years.

‼️ We're proud to announce that over 9,000 construction jobs have been created since the start of construction on the nation’s first high-speed rail system!
👷 As construction booms & jobs continue to grow, we want to thank all the hard-working men & women working to #BuildHSR!
The people who are saying this constitutes another Elon Musk failure simply don't realize that Hyperloop did exactly what is what intended to do: bleed off support for high-speed rail.
The United States is the 6th most expensive country in the world when it comes to building rapid rail projects. The reasons why range from politicization of projects, costs of labor, and efforts to limit disruption to traffic flow during construction.

Today's for goblins and ghouls, but you know what'll be scarier than Halloween? The 405 in a couple weeks...
Fear not… this is just another reason to #BuildHSR

Strong, smart, and courageous women.
May we be them. May we know them. May we raise them.

75 years ago today, Friedel Klussmann was at the helm of the campaign that victoriously saved San Francisco's iconic cable cars from being scrapped by an anti-rail politician.
🧵
Public crusades, often led by women, prevailed in such cases as the successful Freeway Revolt of the early 1960s and neglected maintenance of the railway in 1982. These women used facts and data to build support for worthwhile investments while disputing unpopular projects.

What *really* killed streetcars?
They stopped running efficiently because they were swamped by private automobiles.
This stunning colorized footage from 1930s Los Angeles shows it well...
Metromoves 20 years ago was voted down 69-31. This all would've been close to completion now. And a very different city would've been.
This plan combined with Reinventing Metro would be the dream for 2022 ngl
.@Connector_Cincy looking like NYC rush hour, over here doing the heavy lifting for @BLINKcincy. 💪🚉
Did you know? One 🚊 is the length of five 🚙 and can hold up to 200 passengers. High capacity transit for the win!
