Nashville’s landslide election win for dedicated transit funding is a mandate to make serious progress.
Being the 2nd deadliest city in the US for pedestrians, #1 worst commute, & #1 DVMT didn’t happen overnight.
Big improvements can be made fast, with the public's support -
For immediate street safety improvements in every Nashville neighborhood, Tactical Urbanism is an option much faster than infrastructure overhauls.
@NashvilleDOT has an in-house system in place for the public to access more resources.

We lose over 1,000 Tennesseans each year, and the death count is rising. We have to do better. We have to end this trend. Together, we can save lives. Add your name here:

Sunday is World Day of Remembrance. We've lost 11,000 people on Tennessee roads in 10 years, and the trend is getting worse. It's time to end the trend.
Join us Sunday for a candlelight vigil and call to action:

St. Louis, a city so unsuccessful that it has lost ~68% of its population from peak - getting massive federal grants to build transit rail in the city.
Imagine how fast the feds would trip over themselves to spend this money in Nashville, an actual growing city!
Let's be clear on how the transit referendum is funded. Most of us agree we need more sidewalks, better buses, modern signals, and safer streets.
Let's discuss what Nashvillians will pay and what we'll get back from the feds. 1/
This!! I asked a certain CM who is all of a sudden opposing transit if she had an alternative plan to expand WeGO… her reply “oh we have the money, it’s there”. Where is the $ & what will cut?? She had no definitive solution. Again, we can’t continue to DO NOTHING! #VOTEFOR
Financial projections in the plan are not quite Worst Case but they are very conservative. That’s by design. We worked through this as a body.
You would not know from the clip but the person speaking is a CM who had every right to participate in that work and chose not to.
I’m very curious why there isn’t push back to this CM’s
decision to switch to the opposition after she approved the trans. plan on all readings & never pulled from consent. See my posts on this. I hope folks remember this if the plan fails b/c she’s telling folks it’s a “scam”
Hi @nashvillebanner , a follow up on this would be appreciated.
