@ChrisMurphyCT
Your son’s practice is trying to stay solvent due to poor reimbursements. But please, tell us more about the shocking injustice of a $25 form fee while Medicaid managed care plans extract millions in profit from Peds care and who reimburse pediatricians so poorly
.@ChrisMurphyCT I missed your 'disconnected from reality rant' last night.
Working as a pediatrician till 9 pm.
Anyhoo, it appears you are complaining about paying a pediatrician to get a school form signed.
At least you were able to get your child in to see your pediatrician. Trent, a boy with autism is iced out, because while Medicaid gives you a dance card, you're locked out of the dance. His story in @WSJ
And BTW, I failed to find a practice in Hartford owned by Goldman Sachs. 🧵1/10
@RNSuperHero That is frightening. A veteran ICU nurse is worth their weight in gold! These nurses are probably doing their time before they become a CRNA or FNP.
@DOGE@elonmusk
Here is a great place to cut federal spending. Medicare and Medicaid Advantage plans. I have been saying this for the last 10 years. Never have I seen some much waste all at the expense of people’s health.

@DOGE@elonmusk
Here you go. Slam
Dump example of federal waste. Get rid of Medicare Advantage Plans who have exploited the Medicare dollar
https://t.co/J3WQgitugN
@elonmusk There is so much fraud in Medicare and Medicaid, it is unbelievable. We also need to clean up all the middle men between the money, getting put into healthcare and the Frontline physicians and nurses providing the care. Managed care in Medicare and Medicaid should go.
@shycollie@EPotterMD This is not some nefarious attempt to make more money by the surgeon. She will get paid the same amount of money, regardless of the status at the hospital. You are completely illiterate in this issue.
@shycollie@EPotterMD They gained nothing. The hospital gets reimbursed at a higher rate. So when a physician writes an order, they are doing what they think is in the best interest of the patient with a higher acuity care postoperatively. Who are you to question this?
I hear all the time ‘I’m not doing what I was expecting to be doing as a physician’
So in addition to hard work, the suits are making the scrubs do a bunch of useless meaningless busywork. It’s not helping our patients and it’s driving physicians out of medicine.
Gut the glut.
-Start with mandatory #MOC
After so many years of education were highly capable at figuring out what we need to keep on helping our patients .
-Get rid of MIPS.
-#fixpriorauth
@AmerAcadPeds what is your response? Will you ever advocate for pediatricians? Enough is enough. Maybe a new national organization for pediatricians is needed to advocate for them?

This will be their funeral. Causes of action when a patient is harmed by an unsupervised midlevel- negligent hiring and retention, negligent supervision, vicarious liability to the NPs employer, possibly fraud if the patient does not understand the provider is not an physician.
@BTCisLion @HalstedMD This is what board certified pediatricians are trained to pick up despite the rarity of a disease. But let’s keep letting any yahoo provide care to kids. These diseases are rare and reimbursements are low so what the hell. Let’s just keep playing Russian roulette.
@BTCisLion @HalstedMD Wrong wrong wrong. Yes it’s rare. But caught by someone who who know to investigate persistent jaundice with at least a total and direct bili as high direct bili levels (in biliary atresia) are never normal. And then there is the big liver and spleen which should have been noted.
