There’s no space for hate—on or off the court.
Today, we launch ‘No Space for Hate’, a league-wide platform focused on promoting respect across the WNBA.
From enhanced social media and arena security to increased mental health support, we’re taking action to create a safer, more unified space for all.
Because in the W, respect is non-negotiable.
"We cannot have a situation where international law must be applied to some but can be disregarded by others" @SimonHarrisTD tells me. "In our history we know what it's like to struggle for statehood... we felt it was important to say to the people of Palestine, we see you".
Today, I want to share a message with my powerful Afghan sisters. You are fighting back against the Taliban’s crimes, as they ban you from going to school and try to erase you from public life. You continue resisting. Your courage is a source of inspiration.
“Your heart breaks every single day”: @IamArwaDamon has been to Gaza three times during this war with her charity, @InaraOrg. She tells me each trip reveals that there is "less aid and more need."
On 9 Aug 1956, 20 000 women of all races marched to the Union Buildings to protest pass laws.
Today, we stand on the shoulders of every one of those courageous women, and every woman who has fought and continues to fight for the liberation of the country.

The Women’s March on 9 August 1956 was a pivotal event in South African history. Thousands of women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against the pass laws that restricted the movement of black South Africans.
Today, on #WomensDay, we thank all those brave women, including Lilian Ngoyi, Helen Joseph, Rahima Moosa, Sophia Williams-De Bruyn and Amina Cachalia, to mention a few, on whose shoulders we stand as we celebrate #30YearsOfDemocracy in South Africa this year.

"I stand firm in my commitment to seize the moment and ensure that Congress reauthorizes the landmark Violence Against Women Act, a law that has proven critical in the lives of so many survivors." Sheila Jackson Lee #restinpower
@erinoverbey Very heartbreaking. Women have a responsibility to act to end gender based violence, abuse too. To #believeher. Unfortunately this story is so common.
“I never go on protests but this was a red line.”
Thousands of people have attended protests countrywide to show their support for Natasha O'Brien who was beaten unconscious in a street attack, for which the attacker received a fully suspended sentence | https://t.co/HElbJY9IBL
