@Barefoot_Will_ Brother, I live in my #earthrunners sandals all year….even in Colorado winter. I would love to find a minimalist wildland fire boot 🔥 let’s make that happen!!!!🤙💪🔥
Good morning from a night shift. A lot of Pacific Northwest Fires are expecting rain these next few days and a lot of existing fires may be getting wrapped up.

This is a good reminder to stay heads up. Not just on the fire line, but with yourself and your personal life.
As things start trending towards a slower operation, be aware that your body and brain are still in attack mode. Your loved ones are looking forward to having more time with you. But, we all know that creeping sensation of the late/post season blues. This is a natural thing for wildland firefighters and being aware of those feelings can go a long way.
Don’t forget to take deep breaths, oxygen is your friend. A clean diet and exercise heading out of the season will also help the mind stay healthy. Stay in touch with friends from the crew as the months go by and try to be open with yourself about how your feeling.
A lot of folks are wondering about the pay legislation. At this point they have 6ish days to get something done. Classic government.
A continuation Bill is possible, a shut down is possible, or they can pull a rabbit out of a hat. Who knows what our obviously corrupt and poor performing government will do.
Stay focused on yourself, family, and the mission in front of you. For a lot of you, there are still a few tress that need to be felled, helicopters to be called, and steep nasty ground to hike on.
Stay frosty, stay savage, and remember those that love you.
