BREAKING NEWS: An X2.1 flare from the southwest limb (AR2992) in currently in progress. It is the largest flare so far this cycle (i.e., since Jan 2020). The last time there was a flare this large was back in October 2017, so it is the largest flare we have seen in nearly 5 years
