On Friday, December 1st TriNet ambushed customers with a 5pm email announcing a mandatory four-figure "Platform Innovation Fee". This fee was for platform updates already performed throughout 2023 which they decided to charge their customers for retroactively.
The @TriNet Platform Innovation Fee was taken from my bank account this week. I guess little Timmy is not going to get a new bike this Christmas. Was The Grinch in the board meeting when TriNet decided to steal this money from their customers?
Beware businesses thinking of moving to @TriNet - they are instituting random mandatory fees. There is no more "transparent pricing" - they will put in new fees with zero notice.
@MarsdenMktg @TriNet They don't care that they are ruining their reputation for "transparent pricing". Crazy to charge a mandatory retroactive fee for the "improvements" they did in 2023. We are in the process of moving off TriNet as a result and more customers should look to do the same.
@jpforte@TriNet I agree - so much for their "transparent pricing". They tout their platform as a core feature of their service and then retroactively charge their clients for prior improvements they made. Clearly a cash grab to try to make their year-end numbers.

TriNet touts their platform as a core feature of their service. So, wouldn't any updates to the platform be considered part of the service fees that customers have paid throughout the year? Why would they need to hit customers with an additional fee?

In my opinion, this short term cash grab will lead to longer term problems. How should new customers feel about entering a relationship with TriNet knowing that they may impose random additional fees at any time. So much for "transparent pricing".

As a TriNet client and small business owner, I was not expecting an additonal four-figure expense at year end. My faith in TriNet as a trusted partner is shattered and I cannot imagine that I am the only customer that feels this way.
