The Law Society of Kenya mourns the death of Advocate Esther Wairimu Keige, found dead after weeks of searching, and Advocate Edward Muthee Kariuki, murdered in Athi River on Sunday, 5th July 2026. LSK extends condolences to their families and colleagues.

LSK is demanding:
1. A high-level multi-agency probe into both deaths
2. A forensic audit of Kenya Forest Service land dealings tied to Adv. Keige's work
3. Urgent security protections for advocates in public institutions
4. Transparent, regular updates from investigators and prosecutors

"An attack on an Advocate is an attack on the administration of justice itself."

Further, the President @ckanjama SC noted that Friday, 10th July 2026 is declared a Day of National Solidarity for the legal profession, a nationwide Advocates' March for Justice.

DCI officers arrested Albert Ojwang yesterday at 2PM. at his father's home in Homa Bay in front of his parents and family.
They transported him to Nairobi and took him to Central Police Station. He was not booked. He was not told why he was arrested. Last night, his family and friends were denied access to him. This morning, his father and friends went to see Albert, only for them to be told Albert injured himself while in the police cell and was rushed to Mbagathi Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. All of these don't add up! We demand answers for Albert Ojwang. #JusticeForAlbert
