Sometimes the best ideas come from what others ignore.

I ran 18 years of 60-minute data on E-mini S&P 500 and noticed something odd.

Right after the open, the market often dropped hard, even - 3%+ volatility spikes within the first hour.

Most traders missed it.

So I built a simple system to capture it:

> Base: yesterday’s close
> Space: 3 × ATR(14)
> Entry: 9–10 a.m.
> Exit: 1 hour later

The result was consistent short-side profits in a long-biased market.

Data always speaks louder than assumptions.
