There are things hidden inside of you, that have the sole purpose of existing to be discovered. What is required of you to search for it, may become more valuable than the concealed thing itself.
“For there is nothing hidden except for the purpose of being exposed; nothing has become carefully concealed but for the purpose of coming into the open” - Mark 4:22
@jameygannon Holy Shit!?!?

Since i gave mine up,
You totally should too!!
Your face became a password somewhere along the way. It's a bad one.
A password is a secret, and you can change it. NIST says biometrics "do not constitute secrets." And after a leak, there's no new face.
I wrote up where face scans work, where they fail, and what's missing.
what a privilege to be in the fight. you get to wake up and throw everything you have at a target way out of your reach. you get to fail, absorb the damage, and come back with a better understanding of what it takes. you get to chase things that might be completely beyond you, just to see what happens when you refuse to quit. and then you get to, God willing, wake up tomorrow and do it all again. what a gift.
Why insertions get equal billing with accuracy here: for someone who cannot vocalize, a machine that speaks in their name must not invent words.
This is a research instrument on a non-commercial checkpoint. Not a device, not a product, nothing to sign up for.

Silent speech: no sound, no microphone, just a camera pointed at a mouth.
This week, on one speaker, the error rate fell 0.895 -> 0.589 — and the words the model invented fell 4x, 0.149 -> 0.036 per reference word.
One speaker. 65 clips. Not a product.

None of the above is a system result. n=1.
Zero-shot across 81 external speakers: mouthed silently, 25 of 81 decode worse than saying nothing. Spoken aloud, 1 of 81.
Silence is still where this breaks, and one speaker improving does not move that.
