What is the motive for such high-handed action against female members of @Parliament_Ug who were not in any way engaging in violence but marching peacefully?
If the motive is to strike fear in the hearts of the ordinary citizens by demuhanizing us as their leaders, its a fallacy.
We strongly condemn the unjustified violence and indignity that Uganda's security agencies have meted out on Women Members of Parliament today morning as they peacefully protested against being harassed by police and the military when doing their work.
It is this brutality that continues to stain our conscience as a country! If even MPs have no freedom of speech & assembly, who does?! #WeAreRemovingaDictator #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners #Labisa
@DailyMonitor @usa_nup Why do you trivialise serious issues by referring to them as drama. This is a serious issue where people sustain injuries and mental anguish.
Uganda borrowed $793m @WorldBank. $200m disbursed in 2020 to build secondary schools & maternity wards in under-served areas. Another $592m is proposed.
Many were abandoned by contractors or didn't meet specs. HC upgrading is cancelled for 2023/24.
#CancelTheDebt#DebtJustice
Below is women's hospital constructed on public land using borrowed money which we shall all pay. However its the most expensive obstetric hospital in #Uganda. Why should ugandans pay for a service they've already paid for in a loan? @SpireJim@HEBobiwine#UgandaHealthExhibition
#UgandaHealthExhibition reminds me my visit to Araa Health Centre in Moyo district 2 weeks ago where a works on a new maternity ward stalled after the contractor, excited by a Shs 300m tender, abandoned the contract and no one seems to care!!
Who kicks unarmed civilians like that and still gets to benefit from $1 billion from the #US & $1 billion from @WorldBank @DavidMalpassWBG @IMFNews@KGeorgieva ? Hope you enjoy your caviar & champagne
Dictator @KagutaMuseveni, in power for 36 years, clings to power using repression. This week @PoliceUg detained journalists and forced them to delete images showing them violently assaulting an MP and a district speaker. The people must rise up and end the dictatorship. @UN_HRC
This is how Hon. Susan Mugabi and the District Speaker of Buvuma were treated by the police and military yesterday. Journalists were detained and forced to delete footage to hide these criminal actions. In a sane government, these security men would now be behind bars!
"There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest." ~ Elie Wiesel. Today, these 28 comrades who have been imprisoned for 2+ years, yet again protested against their continued detention without trial!
@ntvuganda That is the absolute truth. Illegitimate dictators not honouring the choice and voice of the masses is the cause of these relentless coups in Africa. Dictators never build strong institutions and just in no time, their countries crumble. Uganda is heading there soon.
@HEBobiwine Like the iron sheets, the food also never reached the intended recipients. #museveni instead took advantage of the situation by weaponising hunger to silence the spirit of resistance against his illegitimate regime's exploitation of karamoja. @IntlCrimCourt@StateDept@StateDRL
1/2 #Ugandan military in #DRC where the Museveni regime recently deployed 5000 soldiers, boast that they're an army of destruction, who shoot to kill. That's the absolute truth! They call themselves Museveni's son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK)'s army.

@Kharym1 @updf_ @Presidence_RDC@Com_mediasRDC how can you be fighting against Rwanda's tutsi M23 who are supported by #museveni & his son and you welcome #UPDF full of same tutsi royal to #muhoozi as evidenced in the video above. SAY NO TO UPDF PRESENCE IN CONGO. UPDF is #M23!
@Dreadful45 omwana tayinza kuyigiriza jjajja we kususa gi. To paraphrase, you have no authority to dictate on a centuries' old practice that has been associated with no harm throught it practice. Stop misinforming the public.
