Terkedu saat menerima pemergian Dato’ Rasammah Bhupalan pagi ini yang merupakan satu nama yang tidak kecil di Malaysia. Mendiang adalah seorang pejuang dan tokoh yang secara teguh dan konsisten dalam isu-isu mengenai keadilan dan kesetaraan gender selain keamanan. Legasi yang ditinggalkan sudah tentu akan membekas serta memberi inspirasi besar kepada perjuangan kaum wanita di Malaysia, selain pernah mencurahkan bakti sebagai guru di Methodist Girls’ School Penang.

Dalam lembaran sejarah, nama beliau terukir sebagai insan yang tegas memperjuangkan hak wanita, termasuk mempersada prinsip “gaji yang munasabah untuk kerja yang setara”, yang merupakan antara perjuangannya yang dinikmati generasi hari ini meski terlupakan.

Secara peribadi, saya mengenang sosok ini sebagai seorang yang tidak hanya berdiri teguh untuk keadilan, tetapi juga sebagai seorang yang dekat dan mendukung saya sedari awal. Di era gelap 1998, beliau antara suara yang memberi sinar dan menjadi sumber kekuatan kepada saya dan keluarga. Pemergiannya pasti meninggalkan bekas yang mendalam tidak hanya kepada saya secara peribadi, malah kepada negara dan rakyat juga.

Saya ucap takziah kepada keluarga mendiang Dato’ Rasamah Bhupalan atas pemergiannya. Semoga legasinya dihayati oleh semua terutama dalam usaha dan upaya kita mengangkat suara dan hak kaum wanita sebaiknya.

For context, some scammer used the credits in my wallet on flights but now when I reach out to them, everyday someone knew takes over and send me some generic shit reply until I started yelling via email. Then they disappear and someone new does the same the next day!
