Employees are the main strength of #TGSRTC ! Realizing that employees can perform their duties effectively only when they are in perfect health, TGSRTC are giving great importance to their healthcare. In this context, the management started a program called Grand Health Challenge. The main purpose of this program is to create health profiles for each and every RTC employee by conducting medical examinations.
TGSRTC organized the Grand Health Challenge-01 in November 2022. Medical Tests like ECG, Blood, Vision, BP and others tests for 47 thousand employees within a record 40 days. These tests have saved the lives of 300 staff who were detected with severe heart problems by providing better treatment.
After conducting medical tests, the staff with health problems are divided into categories A, B, C, D, etc. Special treatment is being given to them. The organization has appointed Health Volunteers at the depot levels to monitor their health condition from time to time. They check the health condition of the staff and inform the RTC doctors.
The organization started Grand Health Challenge-02 from 18th April this year. Special camps have been set up in 97 depots of the state and health tests have been conducted for 45,000 personnel. The test reports were sent to the mobile phones of the staff. Doctor consultation has been arranged at the depots.
The health condition of the staff has improved in Grand Health Challenge-02 as compared to Grand Health Challenge-01. The organization managed to save 150 people suffering from critical ECG in the Grand Health Challenge-02. Previously, the staff who were in E and D categories.. have now improved their health conditions and come in A, B and C categories. This is a very happy thing.
TGSRTC’s Tarnaka Hospital has been developed as a super specialty hospital with state-of-the-art facilities to provide better treatment to the staff. Unlike any other RTC in the country, better medical services are being provided to employees on par with corporate hospitals. At present RTC is providing all services except cardiothoracic surgery and major neurosurgery to officers, staff, retired employees and their family members.
General medical services are being provided by expert doctors in 14 RTC dispensaries across the state. Dispensaries are not making referrals to Tarnaka Hospital. All services such as MRI, City Scan, etc. are provided at Tarnaka Hospital without the possibility of referral to other hospitals.
