@KanekoaTheGreat An ‘investment’ schema USAID..the I is investment. So with your investment track record…you could save lives. You should fully commit to that if it means so much to you…and those life saving numbers are accurate.
@TeslaBoomerMama@ARKInvest $arkvx investor since ‘22. easiest way to own spcx (tsla, neuralink as well) without going the PE route. own a few of Baron funds as well but vx had the highest concentration at time of 12% of the fund. looks like theyve been increasing. performance on this fund has been stellar
The real problem is the govt…its the same playbook they did with college loans. Schools maxed costs to squeeze the kids loan ceilings. Same thing in healthcare…CMMS sets the price and the supply chain maximizes to the ceiling. So instead of local ownership and competition….govt intervened and that always works
@pmarca Is it the Micron fab in Syracuse? They tried that in Manassas dragging out that MU fab 20 years ago. At least the Boise fab is builing like crazy, drove by it last fall….yuge! That campus is expolding in size. The main fab building arequadrupling in size.
@Gfilche@grok Right, invest in what feeds in the Elon ecosystem…way better returns than real estate. But if you’re looking for a cash flow generator, not a bad idea. Just depends on your needs
@aaronburnett Ditto, whenever family says ‘guess what stock went up/down today?’ I say I’m not a day trader why do I care? I look at the cost basis % +/- once in awhile and if not doing 20%+ long…time to clip and buy better.
@Gfilche@SpaceX@grok He tells us these things years in advance. Distributed supercompute is next coming on at the Superchargers, the vehicles and space. Think of the VPP for Powerwall…energy, compute….he’s already told us.
@batess@rossiadam Was running the firewall with a sunfire but uptime winner was a DEC VAX with a Galaxy cluster running OpenVMS, 25 years…retired it with iSeries systems. They could never match the performance so they had to give us more processors and ram for free
Also, cover Micron in Folsom…right next door to Intel. Boise HQ is quadrupling in manufacturing size. Having live nearby we drove by last fall as was staggered at the size it was becoming. They are at the end of town near 2 hydro electric dams. INEEL has new nuke reactors coming online that feed the grid. Most of my noeighbors were Microners. I worked at Simplot whose founder was an angel investor long ago. BTW Simplot created the frozen french fry process that youve been eating at McDonalds since the 60s. Morrison Knudson engineering was once a dominant firm in the US (Hoover Dam, UP rairoads, etc), Albertsons HQ, HP Boise invented the Laserjet there and had a huge campus as well as the 90s HP PCs were manufactured there with…Micron DRAM. Lots of stories to write there.
