Pen award winner, journalist and Ethiopian prominent opposition leader @eskinder_nega announced establishment of Amhara Popular Force to combat Ethnic-Based oppression and genocide.

In a bold move to confront the long-standing issue of ethnic-based oppression, a prominent political opposition leader Eskinder has recently taken decisive action by establishing a Amhara Popular Force aimed at bringing an end to this deeply rooted injustice.

By launching this initiative, Eskinder aims to challenge discriminatory practices, promote inclusivity, and foster social harmony within the nation in general.Ethnic-based attacks and displacement has caused immeasurable pain and perpetuate divisions among diverse populations in Ethiopia especially on ethnic Amharas.

According to leader of the movement, by mobilizing a diverse array of ethnic Amhara supporters from various backgrounds, this force aims to create a powerful movement that transcends divisive lines and embraces the shared humanity of all citizens of Ethiopia and tries to achieve the following points:-

1) Prevention of Ethnic Cleansing and massacres of Ethnic Amharas.

2) Combating arbitrary arrests and Ethnic-Based political detentions of ethnic Amharas .

3) Safeguarding Religious Institutions(Orthodox and Muslim) : The movement aims to preserve the freedom of worship and uphold the rights of religious communities to practice their faith without fear of persecution or suppression.
