Anyone who has listened to my shows the last 10 years has heard me consistently predict this trend would happen. Every reason why CDs annihilated vinyl for decades when they came out still exists. The industry saw a huge cash grab to paint CDs as the archaic format and bury them. Because they could get $70 for a single album expanded to a double, remastered, etc. Now the swing back. Time to remind everyone how cool CDs are and always were. Cheap, digital, no wear, no flipping, no skips or pops, still cool packaging options, no needle, no cleaning, can rip into phone or computer and more . I have no issue with vinyl, but it was so obvious the play was to dump your “uncool” CDs, and buy the “cool” format of vinyl again at insane prices. Now comes the wave to get you to rebuy CDs. Unless you are an audio file with some incredible equipment , CD was always for a ton of reasons the superior format. And now comes the return. Called it for 10 years at least!
