Creating great change, and thriving while doing it requires a shift in thinking about the hard stuff. A challenge doesn't make the work *bad* - I'd argue that's what makes it exciting.
Shoutout to @mluchen for the share on this article from @MindtheProduct.

The worst part of hiring for me is having to tell someone they’re not making it to the next round. I genuinely enjoy 99% of my conversations with folks and can see the qualities they bring to the table.
At some point, you have to really get into the weeds on who’s a better add to the team for the role in which you’re hiring. It’s necessary, but painful, as I know how vulnerable folks have to be when searching for something new.
Managing Amazon purchases in a budgeting app is a nightmare because there’s really inconsistent naming. I think that’s by design. It’s always small enough purchases that I just move on. I just realized I’ve been paying $9/mo. for a subscription I haven’t used in over a year. 😲
@WarbyParker It's not though! The angles are different! Although maybe I should have just propped my phone up at the same angle as my computer camera. 🤔
After working from home for nearly a year, I splurged and got some @WarbyParker blue-light blocking glasses. I went in person to pick out the right frames, but on my first Zoom call with them I realized that they didn’t look the same on video!
For any #scifi lovers out there, you've GOT to check out the Three Body Problem series. Just finished The Dark Forest (book 2) and I can wait to start the next book. 🤯👽
It's more important to find a talented, collaborative team you can work with than finding someone who's going to say yes to your requirements document. That document may be a good reference, but typically doesn't even begin to acknowledge the complexities that come with prod dev.

Just in case you don't already know, please remove "powwow" from your vernacular when you're not talking about the gathering between indigenous people. There are a million other ways to say "let's meet" so just avoid that one.
This has been true at @cremalab for years. People reaching out asking what it takes to work at Crema. The reality is that we haven’t needed to hire 20 people a week. Because folks rarely leave. That being said we are hiring right now. 😁
Your daily reminder that the insulin I’ve used for 24 years, Humalog, has gone from $21 a vial to $275 a vial with no changes to the insulin or even the packaging. That’s a 1200% increase on a hormone every human requires to live, but my body can’t make. I die in 48 hours w/o it
Historian of coups and right-wing authoritarians here. If there are not severe consequences for every lawmaker & Trump govt official who backed this, every member of the Capitol Police who collaborated with them, this "strategy of disruption" will escalate in 2021
Look, I'm not saying I've been perfect throughout the pandemic. Like many others, I've had to make some highly calculated risks for the sake of my mental health but dang people! Get it together! Start treating this like we did back in the spring.
