August 25, 1937. #OTD Tamara Vsevolodovna Lizinskaya, a student from Moscow, was executed.

Tamara spent much of her youth in Berlin and Paris, where her mother Alexandra Lizinskaya worked until 1931; this foreign experience may have been what put her under scrutiny. Another possible reason for her arrest was her relationship with Abel Yenukidze, a prominent Old Bolshevik, former Secretary of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, and godfather of Stalin's second wife, Nadezhda Alliluyeva. Yenukidze had been expelled from the party in 1935 and was executed in 1937.

On February 8, 1937, Tamara was arrested in Moscow. She spent more than 6 months in custody at Lubyanka before being put on trial on August 25. Her name was already on an "Execution List" signed by Stalin when she went on trial. She was sentenced to death for “membership in an anti-Soviet terrorist organization.” Judge Vasily Ulrich noted in her file: “Execute immediately.” She was shot 3 days after her mother, who had also been arrested on February 8, 1937, and had been executed on similar charges on August 22, 1937. We will do an entry on her.

Tamara Vsevolodovna’s son, Pyotr, was 7 at the time. He lived with relatives and adopted their name to avoid the label of “Child of a Traitor to the Fatherland.” Pyotr later researched his mother's story and published it. Lizinskaya is today one of the more well-known cases of an ordinary person executed during the Terror. Her face has been used in anti-Stalinist protests.

She was rehabilitated on March 1, 1958.

Die Vorstellung des klimaneutralen „Umbaus“ von Wirtschaft und Alltagsleben nach einem feststehenden Fahrplan verkennt die Eigenlogiken moderner Gesellschaften, die kein „Apparat“ sind, an dem man nach Belieben herumschrauben oder ihn herunterfahren kann. Zu ihren Funktionsbedingungen gehört eine wettbewerbsfähige Wirtschaft - sie ist die Grundlage für den Wohlfahrtsstaat und den inneren Frieden und nebenbei auch Voraussetzung für die enormen Investitionen, die auf dem Weg zur Klimaneutralität erforderlich sind.
Wer das ignoriert, landet entweder als einsamer Rufer in der Wüste oder bei Phantasien vom autoritären Durchregieren zur Verhinderung des proklamierten Weltuntergangs (Klimapolitik als „letztes Gefecht“).
Merke: Politik, die sich aus der Beschwörung der drohenden Katastrophe ableitet, führt leicht selbst zu katastrophalen Ergebnissen.

Es besteht die Gefahr, dass viele Menschen, die sich „nur“ eine konservative Änderung wünschen und - ähnlich der Kohlschen patriotischen Reform - von der AfD erwarten, zu spät oder allenfalls jetzt, wo die Partei vor der Tür steht, entdecken, dass sie Crazy Shit vertritt und tatsächlich umsetzen will. Es ist was anderes, auf angeblich linke Lehrer zu schimpfen, als die Schulpflicht zu beenden. Etwas anderes, sich über angebliche EU-Bürokratie zu beklagen, als Psychos zu wählen, die ernstlich aus EU und Euro rauswollen und diese Schritte auch gehen.

A developer using Bluetooth headphones accidentally caught Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba secretly hijacking his computer's audio system without making a single sound.

When his wireless headphones refused to switch audio to his phone while browsing AliExpress, he inspected the site's hidden code. He discovered background scripts holding his computer's audio pipeline wide open.

Alibaba was using the browser's WebAudio API to run invisible sound waves at zero volume. By measuring tiny hardware differences in how each computer processes those signals, the site created a unique digital fingerprint to track devices.

Because the secret audio path stayed active, it froze his Bluetooth connection while quietly scraping hardware memory, screen dimensions, and network data in the background.
