@zomgitstoly @nolimits @paulg @ericmigi They don't drive browsers. The bridges do use the same APIs as the web apps, but they're reverse-engineered and implemented natively, there's no actual browser involved.

@__weirdnik__ @lrvick @RiotChat The encryption itself has been fine for over a year now (it was externally audited late 2016), it's the UX that is in beta. Key sharing (sharing old keys to your other devices) has improved recently, but key verification isn't that nice yet (no cross-signing or other such things)

@signalapp and @telegram down, time to stop using centralized services for chat and switch to @RiotChat / @matrixdotorg.

The best part is you can use Signal and Telegram through Matrix (once they come back up), so you don't need all your contacts to switch at once.

@octobyte @md__5 Ubuntu 17.10 does use Wayland by default as long as you don't have an Nvidia card. Even Nvidia+Nouveau disables Wayland completely.
