That Madrid team could be put in situations where they had to cross inshallah and still be very dangerous because we had Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema who could all meet those crosses, they could counter attack, they could also play a possession game.

On July 25th, I twitted regarding the burial of 36 unidentified bodies at the Rayerbazar Intellectuals Cemetery. These bodies were buried from the late night of July 18th to the afternoon of July 23rd.

The grave diggers have informed me that an additional 29 unidentified bodies were buried at the same cemetery from the night of July 23rd to the night of July 29th. In this video, you can see 9 new graves, and according to the grave diggers, two bodies have been buried in each grave.

This video was recorded on the afternoon of July 27th. The authorities of the Rayerbazar Intellectuals Cemetery confirmed that by last night, an additional 13 bodies were buried in the 11 newly dug graves (as seen in the video).

They informed me that these bodies came from Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and Midford Hospital. Some of the new bodies have come from various hospitals in Badda, Rampura, and Mirpur. They claimed that instead of using the vehicles of Anjuman Mufidul Islam (a charity that buries unidentified bodies) for transporting these bodies, ambulances from various hospitals were used. All of the deceased are, in fact, student protestors.

As of today, July 30, 2024, at 1500 hours Bangladesh time, a total of 67 unidentified bodies have been buried here.

For those of you who are interested in visiting the site in person, you can easily get to the Rayerbazar Intellectuals Cemetery from the Mohammadpur bus station. Upon arrival, you can ask anyone to show you the lane for unidentified bodies, and they will guide you.

In the last 36 hours, the Students Against Discrimination (SAD) made a rough tally of the fatalities from the state-sponsored brutalities since the 17th of July against their quota reform movement. This is more than the number of deaths that Prothom Alo, Bangladesh’s newspaper of record, was able to corroborate.

As you can see, 78 per cent of the fatalities are students. SAD, whose members are scattered all over, is confident that the number is more than 1,000 as they haven’t been able to check on all hospitals. And there are unmarked graves at multiple locations with hundreds of bodies.

I'm at a loss for words to describe this. Not once did Hasina mention the students who lost their lives during the recent protests during her latest presser with business leaders. The police killed at least 170 students (the actual number is likely higher), but she didn't express any condolences, nor did she address the police brutality. All she said was that the protest was orchestrated by '@BJI_Official and @bdbnp78,' and she will go to any extent to arrest and punish the perpetrators.

This is sickening. What a classic case of a dictator she is!

This is what the Bangladesh government and its supporters have said over the last 15 years: "Our elections are free and fair". A lie. "We have freedom of speech in Bangladesh". A lie. "We do not secretly detain and disappear people" A lie. "Our courts are independent." A lie. "The opposition are terrorists." So many lies. And now in response to the current killings by law enforcement authorities (current confirmed number: 155) and the resulting violence by the protestors, the authorities are lying again.

The Home Minister Asauzzaman Khan told journalists on Saturday that "Not many people were killed in police firing. They (protesters) are the ones who are firing. I have seen quite a few members of our Chhatra League ( student wing of the ruling Awami League party) and our leaders and activists were injured. The style ( of the violence) shows that Jamaat and BNP [Bangladesh opposition parties] have done it together."

BANGLADESH 🇧🇩: @amnesty has analysed and authenticated witness testimonies, video and photographic evidence which confirms that the police used unlawful force against student protesters.

Further witness testimonies confirm the continuation of a multi-year pattern of violence against protesters, allegedly committed by members of the Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL), a group affiliated with the ruling party.

Our analysis finds that the shooting of student protestor Abu Sayed in Rangpur, was a seemingly intentional, unprovoked attack on an individual posing no threat to police officers, using ammunition designed for hunting which is extremely dangerous and unlawful for use in the policing of protests.

"We urgently call on the Government of Bangladesh to rehabilitate all those injured and ensure they receive proper medical treatment. The authorities must also ensure that all those engaged in the attacks on peaceful protesters are held to account, and that an impartial, independent, and swift investigation is conducted against these attackers as well as the police officers who have directly perpetrated or failed to prevent such breaches of the law" said Taqbir Huda, Regional Researcher for South Asia at Amnesty International.
