@DigsPitcher Oh could be. I haven't built park factors yet, need to have it bring in a few prior seasons first, but Google search says gatech has a crazy park factor
@DigsPitcher Unrelated mostly, what's the deal with Brosius bags score? Due to low # of PA? Stat line isn't far off myles Bailey
collecting d1 stats first, then push down through d2/d3. I've collected reconciled (pitcher and batter verified) pitch level pbp for about 75% of all 2026 PA
@DigsPitcher Ok, interesting. Well if I build a data set for those things I will let you know. Over 24 hours later and ncaa still has me in the bin. I think I'll just have to make targeted scrapers for every team's website.
@DigsPitcher I didn't know how/where you got data. Do you get it from each individual school as opposed to ncaa? Would solve the polling rate issue, but with much more complexity on the front end and ncaa could be sourced for d2 and d3
@DigsPitcher I'm trying to get college box score and pbp data. Nothing revolutionary, but it's a lot of data and ncaa dot org keeps putting me in timeout for requesting data. I have to slow down my request rate, but I also don't want it to take 5 days to compile the '26 season
@NickJFaleris I get that, and it's why I've been learning German. I was never asked to read any substantial latin source material. Nor asked to learn Greek or Persian. French or German would have unlocked substantial texts from enlightenment philosophers. So, it just feels pointless.
@NickJFaleris As someone who was required to take 4 years of Latin, info not believe it has served me well relative to other linguistic options. "It will help you learn other romance languages". You know what would have helped me learn Spanish better? 4 extra years of Spanish.
@NickJFaleris Or even require two modern languages. Still has the depth problem, but more likely to have some actual utility in life.
I generally find latin instruction to be a performative signal, and I suspect even many of the schools feel that way.
Old doesn't mean good.
@NickJFaleris Instead of 4+4 in Latin and Spanish, where I have retained only trivial knowledge of the former and little enough of the latter, I could have become deeply fluent in Spanish.
