I love this beautiful, thoughtful piece by @shayla__love about what neurodiversity means--especially if you're wondering if you're also "neurodivergent" https://t.co/31ghRlukde
It’s a common misconception that endo is found ONLY in the pelvis. Although endometriosis is often found in areas such as the rectovaginal cul de sac, peritoneum, & ovaries, it is also commonly found in places such as the bowel, bladder, appendix, diaphragm, & lungs.
Most writing advice is tailored for neurotypical people. Neurodivergent writing is different. I've been bludgeoned w "thinking about writing isn't writing" in grad school. For my neurodivergent mind, it is, in fact, the vast majority of how I write. Trust your process, not theirs
Endometriosis afflicts 1 in 10 reproductive-age individuals. An estimated 200 million people suffering worldwide!
It’s more than a debilitating disease- it’s a family issue. It impacts a person’s life from their career & romantic relationships to their loved ones & communities.
Kicking off #EndometriosisAwarenessMonth with this enlightening (and deeply angering!) read.
Jackson, who has endo herself, thoroughly explains how persistent misogyny has led to the constant dismissal and mistreatment of chronic pain. A must-read IMO #NEISvoid
