🧵TCS Q1 FY27, Numbers and Concall : What is my understanding and way ahead 👉
1/ TCS Q1FY27 wasn't about revenue. It was about the AI transition becoming real.
Despite macro uncertainty, TCS reported:
• 72,275 Cr revenue (+13.9% YoY)
• $9.5Bn TCV
• $2.6Bn annualized AI revenue (+13.6% QoQ)
Constant currency rev up 0.4% Qoq and 3.2% YOY
The message: 👉 AI is now becoming a meaningful business, not just a future opportunity.
Cloud-based LLMs are powerful.
But there are times when local models are a better choice, especially when you're dealing with sensitive info.
Here, Manoj shows you how to use Ollama, Python, and LangChain to run LLMs locally and build privacy-first, AI-powered apps.

A Guru had two shishyas learning archery.
The first shishya was impatient. Every time he missed the target, he had a reason.
One day he said,
"Guruji, the wind was too strong."
Another day,
"A bird flew across my line of sight."
The next day,
"The sun was in my eyes."
And on another occasion,
"The bowstring didn't feel right."
No matter what happened, there was always an explanation for the missed target.
One day, after another miss, he approached the Guru and complained,
"Guruji, I am doing exactly what you taught me, yet I am unable to hit the target."
The Guru quietly placed another target at a distance and asked him to try again.
As the shishya took aim, the Guru softly whispered,
"This arrow will miss too."
The arrow flew... and missed.
The shishya immediately replied,
"See, Guruji! I told you. I am following your teachings, but I still cannot hit the target."
The Guru smiled and remained silent.
On the other side stood the second shishya.
He practiced the same techniques.
Sometimes he hit the target.
Sometimes he missed.
When he missed, he adjusted his stance.
When he hit, he continued practicing.
He never complained about the wind.
He never blamed the birds.
He never blamed the sun.
He never blamed the bow.
One day the Guru asked,
"Why do you never complain when you miss?"
The second shishya replied,
"Guruji, the wind, the birds, and the sun are all part of the game. My job is not to control them. My job is to master the process. If I keep following the process every day, I will eventually become a better archer."
The Guru smiled and said,
"That is the difference between the two of you. One is searching for reasons. The other is searching for improvement. One wants immediate results. The other is building skill."
The first shishya remained focused on every missed target.
The second shishya remained focused on every lesson.
Years later, the first still had excuses.
The second had mastery.
The lesson is simple:
People who are result-driven complain after every failure.
People who are process-driven learn from every failure.
In trading, the market is the wind, the news is the bird, and volatility is the sun.
Those who blame them after every loss never grow.
Those who keep refining their process eventually become consistently profitable.

Time for a quick side project! Always wanted a CO2 sensor on my desk to know when to open a window.

Schematic is ready, time for layout🤞
Firmware engineers, how much of your testing time goes into staring at scrolling debug logs?
Or exporting logs to Excel, filtering, sorting, hunting for that one anomaly?
We're building a serial terminal that takes that pain away — designed with several engineers across multiple organizations who ship hardware products where time-to-market actually matters.
What's new:
📈 Live Plotting — visualize device parameters as graphs. Zoom in, find min/max/average with one click. No more eyeballing CSVs.
🔢 Event Counter — automatically detects and counts boots, Wi-Fi connects/retries, disconnects, MCU resets, and more. Your terminal becomes a live dashboard for the device under test.
⚡ Automatic Fault Injection (coming soon) — hammer your serial protocol with hundreds of automated fault scenarios so it doesn't break in the field.
If you've ever wished your serial terminal did more than just dump bytes, this one's for you.

🌟Introducing🎻Violin — an Open-source Video Translation Skill.
📹Video is the dominant medium on the internet, yet most high-quality content (lecture, talk, podcast) is locked behind a single language, leaving global audiences behind.
So we built Violin: a video skill that combines speech recognition, LLM translation, and speech synthesis into one seamless pipeline.

Underwater SLAM is one of the hardest unsolved problems in robotics.
And an open-source project called AQUA-SLAM is taking it on.
Here's why underwater SLAM is so brutal compared to standard environments:
→ No GPS, zero external positioning reference
→ Poor visibility, cameras struggle where light doesn't reach
→ Sensor drift, errors compound fast with no corrections
→ Feature scarcity, almost nothing to anchor a map to (open sea or ocean lol)
AQUA-SLAM combines stereo cameras, IMU and a Doppler Velocity Log to tackle localisation and mapping in conditions that defeat conventional systems.
It ships with sensor calibration, loop closure, full ROS integration and real underwater datasets out of the box.
Why does this matter beyond the lab?
Underwater robotics is one of the most underloved and underinvested areas in the entire robotics stack, and one of the most commercially important.
Pipeline inspection. Offshore energy infrastructure. Deep-sea mining. Environmental monitoring. Search and rescue.
All of it requires robots that can navigate reliably where humans cannot go and GPS does not work.
Open-source projects like this are how the field moves forward. Someone builds the foundation. The community builds on top of it.
If you're working in underwater robotics, sensor fusion or visual-inertial SLAM, this one is worth exploring.
VERY INTERESTING. 🌊

Now the UI of Circuitiny is intuitive.
Just the chat and the 3D viewer, if you want the full experience you can go with the expert mode.
If you are a student or a maker, you should give it a try.
I was a bit hesitant about showing stuff like this just a month ago 😅
When we started showcasing real-time AI + SDF sculpting, I was afraid professionals would laugh if I showed no effort on the input models. The shape strength slider was also hidden in our first iteration, so I had no choice but to at least try and knock some more interesting shapes together.
Now that we're starting to focus on more powerful features and shape strength is finally unlocked, I'm starting to appreciate just playing with simple shapes.
Different stages of production have different needs. Sometimes you want full authoring over your creations, while other times you just want to quickly explore new ideas.
