Join me next week in @vascularbiology's InFocus Session, where I'll be giving a short presentation on my thesis project 'Distinct Functional Consequences of FOXF1 Mutations in Capillary Development'. Registration is free: https://t.co/Rvr3H58lFd
Drs. @SimonMiao6, Nicole Pek (@two_cells), and Drs. Minzhe Guo and @MingxiaGu's labs co-differentiated mesoderm and endoderm in the same spheroid to vascularize lung and intestinal #organoids!

Thrilled to share that I’ve been selected as one of 19 recipients for the 2025 @GenScript Life Science Research Grant (First Award Cycle). This grant will support our efforts to validate the utility of LNP-mRNA in treating vascular diseases.
Excited to share our recent work on organoid vascularization, now out in @CellCellPress! Grateful to all our amazing collaborators who made this possible! @CuSTOM_CCHMC@UCLAstemcell
By employing developmental principles, we were able to overcome long-standing challenges in the field - 1) inadequate vascularization of gut organoids, 2) ECs and mesenchyme void of organ-features. A major milestone in vascular biology organoid research!
Our Cell paper is now online!! 💡We share a mesoderm-endoderm co-differentiation strategy to achieve organ-specific #endothelial & #mesenchymal cells in vascularized #lung and intestinal #organoids. 🔗https://t.co/tjoJDohDP6
Excited to share our latest study showing that restoring the balance between NTRK2 isoforms offers a promising therapeutic approach to promote pulmonary vascular regeneration! https://t.co/sw6lWaFsff
Your lungs make blood too. UCSF scientists just discovered lung stem cells that produce blood, just like bone marrow. This could change how we treat blood and immune disorders. https://t.co/7k7L9iOmDj
Our new metabolic method to generate highly-pure hepatocyte-like cells is out in @biorxivpreprint where we study the effect of biosafety-level-4 viruses using these purified hepatocyte-like cells.

Thankful for the partnership with @miltenyibiotec , whose cutting-edge products are vital to my research. Their solutions are key to my work on stem cell-derived vessel organoids for modeling disease and development, making a huge impact on my progress. https://t.co/O6NRCPhHW3
@WindDustStars Women are naturally less interested in these fields and that’s why they are less active in STEM? That’s total bs. For one, maybe look up the misogyny women in STEM experience - from daily interactions all the way up to the Nobel! https://t.co/HgRiSyGi2a
Curious about how our brain distinguishes 'doorbells' from 'eggs' or know when words are gibberish? Don't miss my latest blog article where I dissect a recent study that uncovered how our brain processes semantic information at a single-cell level - https://t.co/agbvPyRIxX
BREAKING NEWS
The 2024 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun for the discovery of microRNA and its role in post-transcriptional gene regulation.
Amazing to see Dr. @TakebeLab and team's study on 'butt-breating' receive such an incredible accolade and recognition. If you'll like to learn more about anal breathing, I wrote a an article on my blog a couple months back on this - https://t.co/Gr8W6oUrEi Please check it out!
Can people really breathe through their butts? Mammals can. So people probably can, too. Congrats to @TakebeLab@CuSTOMOrganoids@CincyChildrens One of 10 winners of a 2024 #IgNobel Prize! Read more: https://t.co/riDbX2XcPx Watch the ceremony:

A massive milestone for @npbiomeds!! We are constantly looking for new projects - if you are looking for biomedical experts for your writing/ editing/ research needs, please reach out! If you know anyone who might benefit from such services, point them in my direction! 🙏🏻
As summer winds down, we're thrilled to announce that we’ve secured four major contracts in the past few months—two in biopharma and two in education. We’re still open to new opportunities, so don’t hesitate to reach out!
Now published in the Sept. 5 issue of @CellCellPress: A holistic view of the vascular endothelium as a systemically disseminated organ. Go to https://t.co/PBtddORq7n if you want to learn more about the beauty and importance of endothelial cells in health and disease.
Astonishing breakthrough in #organoid engineering, as reported in @Nature by T Recaldin,M Harter,L Steinacher,B Gjeta, and colleagues: intestinal epithelial organoids incorporating tissue-resident immune cells. @IHB_Research@Roche https://t.co/kALIiabRFK
