Ten years ago I took what I think is my favourite picture. There is a wonderfully natural feel to this exchange between the young boy and a gardener at Trinity- as though the young lad was just going about his everyday business and stopped to pass the time of day. One might imagine he is explaining an aspect of horticulture to a friend of like mind. We can’t know what was said but one thing is clear - the absolute delight in the gardener’s face. (The mother of this young child is just out of frame to the left)
Winifred Sawley Brown (26 November 1899 – 30 July 1984) was an English sportsperson, aviator and author. She was the first woman to win the King's Cup air race (in 1930). She also explored the length of the Amazon by water.
