In case you missed it (you definitely did), Senate Republicans voted yesterday against the DISCLOSE Act to ban secret money in elections. What does that tell you about their priorities?
Btw, it is not “taking sides” to say that the Trump Republicans are trying to establish an authoritarian government in America.
It is not “violating journalistic standards” to tell the truth about what we are facing. Not doing so violates the basic canons of journalistic ethics.
How long can the Republican Party accept a leader with no respect for our democracy?
How long can it support someone who spreads dangerous and absurd conspiracy theories?
How long can it ignore the obvious signs of a mind at odds with reality?
@RepPressley@POTUS I graduated in 2019 as a nurse who went to the cheapest state school in Ma. Im 40k in debt, stressed and burnt out post pandemic. I’m very greatful for this relief. Still stressed over 20k as it inhibits my plans for the future :/
I hear Republicans complaining about $20,000 in student debt forgiveness. Funny, I didn't hear those complaints when Trump declared bankruptcy 6 times & had $287 million in loans forgiven by big banks. The GOP l-o-v-e-s socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the rest.
@SquawkCNBC You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about in regards to student loans or college education. A bachelors degree is a required qualification for almost all living wage careers in America minus trades! We must make it affordable for all and help our youth!
It simply cannot be politically advantageous to hold 50 million Americans on the knife's edge of student debt payments. People are panicking and President Biden is on vacation.
