@MancerAI_ And that reasonable definition requires two or more mechanisms.
Your use of AI/LLM is not stating multiple mechanisms. You'll have to use more descriptive terms to accurately apply "intelligent" to it.
Knowledge is not something people want to pay for.
Google had to provide search for free.
AI that has value is already being used in the decision making process of many companies.
But nobody wants to buy an AI output.
I need one Ai guy to explain in detail about how we are all going to get rich from it and not watch a small number of tech bros suck up literally all of the world's energy and resources.
The concept of time is so fundamental to the human experience that we took the most natural time tool, and added ways to measure it.
The sun.
The first recorded sun dial is 1500 bce.
The most basic of time tracking is light/dark. And we all see and know we are in those states of light and dark transitioning.
This is what makes AI stupid to use.
We have to decide which vendor is the cheapest. They will become like foreign currency where the price changes every day.
A model costs 10x more but finishes the task 3x faster.
Another costs 10x less but needs 4 retries.
Which one is actually cheaper?
This is going to become a very real engineering problem.
If AI depends on the randomness of noise from a computer to generate it's weights is it really conscious?
Answer: No.
That's like saying we need a random seed generator to bootstap our consciousness.
My dice are conscious!!
Shut down every casino now, for slave-trading!!
Either that or read what Congressman Lieu is trying to tell you.
[There are actually multiple sources of randomness in LLMs, including temperature but also the dynamics of servers, but none of them make matrix math conscious.]
The novelty of it is entertaining. But it's absolutely useless for most day to day uses.
It's been useful for creators and thinkers. But nothing about it is useful when there is an app for what we need.
