Uniform 1.2 introduces the simulation component for cloth and ropes, including force fields, collisions, self collisions and tool system integration. Also includes curvature influence, 2D texture painting, baking, new exporters and more. Available now.
To get started with simulations in Uniform 1.2, select the Simulation Override from the gallery.
You can then use any deformation tool to interact with the simulation in real time. You can also add extra modules to the stack like damping, colliders and force fields.
@Doppio8th @sparseal Also the tools/brushes are very customisable. I’ve rarely found myself lacking a tool/function I needed. Uniform feels more all rounded and nomad feels specialised for high poly sculpting/vertex painting. I will say it has a learning curve but it’s worth it.
@Doppio8th @sparseal It’s just so SO packed with features and supports multiple complete workflows, from high poly sculpting to low poly, uv’ing and texturing. You can also sculpt directly on the normals of a low poly mesh using the same brushes you’d use in high poly. I love it!
Uniform 1.2 will include the Surface Transfer tool. This tool can bake high poly geometry to editable textures. You can keep using the sculpting tools to refine the resulting normal map.
