Facts you don't know about me and any other type 1 diabetic:
π I take minimum 4 injections a day to be alive
π I have to measure my Blood Glucose before and after every meal
π If I take more dose than required, I might go in coma or die if left untreated
Imagine π€―
Eating 6 spoons can kill you β οΈ
Eating 7 will kill you slowly, more painfully π€
Eating 6.666 is the only way you'll get away β β β
This is life of a diabetic 24*7 non stop for every day of their life without a break

Imagine the stress one goes through, calculating every single bite of food they think of consuming.
Calculating the dosage of insulin they need to take + checking their BG before even thinking of eating something and then adjusting highs and lows prior to avoid fluctuations!
@BeanditoBetes I feel you Scott :)
Even though it's been 14 years which is way less than yours! The burnout from continuously panicking and always wondering about your diabetes. From the moment you wake up to the moment you sleep and beyond.
To all the good good t1d π
diabetes is a battle that you can't always see because we've learned to hide it so well. we almost die and then get back up and go on with our lives. behind that smile is a lot of pain and exhaustion but we go on anyway. we don't get much of a choice
Being a type 1 diabetic, I really feel like taking an action against so many misleading ads being run out there just for the sole purpose of marketing.
Most often people from non-medical background end up getting false hopes on seeing them.
Insulin is not a cure! We need the non-diabetes world to know how much diabetes research still matters despite the fancy CGMs and insulin pumps. Those are part of our treatment. We still need a cure. #t1d#type1diabetes#WorldDiabetesDay2022
This is how a type one diabetic lives their lives.
It's not easy but we don't give up. We can't give up.
Today is celebrated as world diabates day, here's to every diabetic doing their best to live with this invisible disease π
