U can memorize facts and not understand their relevance or how they fit in with everything. Like kids who can solve a math equation (2*2=?) but struggle with story problems.

@SamaHoole @SMRdeka I also wonder if heavy plant eating has lowered the acidity a bit in some people's stomachs. I haven't had a stomach bug in the 5 years I've been eating mostly animal food, whereas prior to this the whole family would get gastro every year on schedule (when school started).

@madhavtiwari24 @zerohedge MMT is collapsing. 🇯🇵 economy's been running on low rates, with BoJ adding stimulus by buying most of its own bonds. This has been a long time coming. Last year BoJ ended a 16-year run of 0% interest rates. Slowly they've raised. Now w/Iran and weak yen, it's become unavoidable.

It's not that AI can't be used to do knowledge work. It's that it's wildly unreliable in bizarre and incomprehensible ways. Things you'd never think it could be possible to mess up are the things that it messes up.

Like you ask it download some data and do an analysis, and instead it just completely fabricates a fictional dataset for no reason, and gives you results based on that.

Fine if you catch it, but potentially career-ending if you don't.

It inserts its own ideas without telling you. It deletes critical paragraphs.

These actions would be psychopathic in a colleague, but we're just supposed to accept it because it's a machine.

Not much in the short-term due to Strait blockage. Long term more oil production (so lower oil prices)but also creates the potential for more upheaval in the region (adding a risk premium to oil prices), especially if competition for market share gets fierce.

They don't check every car, but borders are still manned and you can still get stopped and asked to show your papers or disclose the purpose of your stay, destination etc (unlike the rest of the EU).

@Vanillasky8788 @hellphish89 @SydneyLWatson There's a big difference between driving through and setting up residency. You have to be registered at the local gemeinde to rent, bank, get health insurance, access schools, get a job, etc. So yes, while you can visit, it's not that easy to stay.
