Our team from VK Tech business unit won the Senior league at VKCTF 2026 and finished 1st overall out of 77 teams!

Organized by Codeby, the competition ran from September 10 to 13. We're coming away with both the Senior league win and the top spot in the overall standings.

I'm proud to have represented VK Tech alongside my teammates. Thank you for the work you put into this result. It's a win we get to celebrate together.

Thanks to Codeby for organizing VCTF 2026, and to all the teams who took part.

LLMs are incredible pattern matchers but terrible at admitting “I don’t know.”

The real engineering challenge isn’t building smarter models — it’s building systems that know their own uncertainty.

Microservices don’t remove complexity — they just move it from your codebase into your network.

Choose your poison wisely.

“Just add a cache” is the “have you tried turning it off and on again” of system design.

Cache invalidation is still one of the two hard problems in CS — the other being naming things (and off-by-one errors).

A pitfall when using #java @springframework @Transactional annotation is self-invocation. In the code below you'd expect in that the first save() will be rolled back. But it won't. To work properly the @Transactional method needs to be called from another service.
