Those erroneously describing the MOU that is being negotiated as a "peace deal" should read what some of #Iran's regime's newspapers are saying. The daily Khorasan wrote today that any deal is seen merely as an agreement to end the current war, not a settlement of the core disputes between the U.S. and Iran.

According to Khorasan, “The issues between Iran and America, and especially Iran and Israel, have reached the level of an existential battle that will in practice end only with the decisive victory of one side."

Javan had a similar argument today that diplomacy can function like war or as its continuation.

Khorasan and the conservative Javan are pushing back at those in the hardline minority opposed to the MOU.

Even when a vessel spoofs its GPS position, some AIS data can still be useful. A ship's heading (the direction it's pointing) may remain accurate, which helps to identify and track vessels along with satellite imagery and other sources.

#Iran's regime's foreign minister tells state media today that there are supporters and opponents of the MOU text within the Islamic Republic's Supreme National Security Council.

He also says if approved, the MOU will be signed remotely. We've gone from floating a grand signing ceremony on the sidelines of the G7 summit to a remote signing if the MOU is even approved. And again all the usual caveats apply as this is from an Islamic Republic official.

The events of the last 24 hours underscore the reality: there is no durable diplomatic outcome possible with #Iran's regime as long as it remains in power. MOU, or no MOU, the conflict between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic will continue. Dealing with this regime always ends in tears. It won't change until the Islamic Republic is gone.

The @UANI blacklisted #GhostArmada tanker CARINA (IMO 9240512), is sitting right now off Colombo 🇱🇰, in the anchorage. It is a stateless vessel with an unknown flag according to the @IMOHQ, and links to Iran 🇮🇷🛢️

Also, there's four 🇮🇷-flagged tankers anchored off Galle, 🇱🇰, as well.

Might want to keep tabs on those ships.

The Mehr News report already conflicts with the Axios report which suggests temporary sanctions waivers will be tied to implementation of the deal and be issued after the Strait of Hormuz is open (more likely). The Mehr report claims some sanctions waivers will be issued before final negotiations even begin, which would of course be ideal for the Islamic Republic.

That's 24 tankers NOT sailing to the 🇲🇾 Malaysian Eastern Out of Port Limits (EOPL) anchorage with 🇮🇷🛢️ bound for 🇨🇳Teapot Refineries.

This is due to the US Blockade on Iranian ports.
